Ályth’s Yoga Journey
I am originally from the Hebrides off the Northwest Coast of Scotland but now live in Wexford. I am a singer and actress, and I have practiced Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Hatha styles of yoga for many years worldwide, but mainly as exercise. A few years ago, when faced with a family illness, I knew I needed to prioritise some stress relief and centre myself as best I could. I found a teacher locally called Carly Yoga. She offered an hour of relaxation: half an hour of yoga and half an hour of massage. It was just what I needed and gave me the head space to continue to deal with what our family were going through. After a few weeks, I decided to do just the hour of yoga because it was most effective mentally and physically.

Since then, I decided to learn more about these ancient scientific practices. During the pandemic, I had the time to dive deep into my practice and studied to become a yoga teacher with Guru Singh. I am passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga with every BODY, so I love teaching Chair Yoga. I have taught in Gorey for almost 2 years and am very grateful for the new community created with my students. In addition to maintaining and increasing flexibility, my classes are designed to help clients reconnect with themselves, foster self-awareness, acceptance, compassion, patience, gratitude, and love, and help us live more fully—Sat Nam.
I also studied with Uplifted Yoga–Brett Larkin and Dina Cohen–Dynamic Flow Yoga. I am a registered yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance Professionals.
